Beefing Up My Shelves – June 1, 2011!

How joyous to have chanced on a J.M Coetzee book. Although not in a very good shape, I had to buy this because of my growing love and enthusiasm for this author. The book had half of the front cover torn and to which I had to later reshape with scissors.  It’s all good that at least the content pages are in good shape.

The book, ‘Inner Workings’ is a book of literary essays. The book has an introduction written by Derek Attridge and is published by Vintage. Among the authors Coetzee writes about are Philip Roth, William Faulkner, Walt Whitman, Graham Greene, Gunter Grass, Nadine Gordimer, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, V.S Naipaul, Saul Bellow, Joseph Roth, Samuel Beckett, Hugo Claus etcetera, etcetera.

I hope to enjoy this one. What do you think?

Ooh, another Coetzee! I am glad that you were able to snag this one, and I look forward to hearing what you have to say about it. Too bad that the cover was a little messed up though.

  3. Interesting to read about how an author feels or what he writes about others like him.
