I picked up two books over the weekend from the Ghana Book Trust.
The first is Around the World in 80 Days. I have owned this book before, several years back but never got to finishing it because the book got lost somewhere sometime I cannot remember how. However, I am happy to lay hands on a new copy which I hope to complete safely. It is written by Jules Verne and has also been turned into motion pictures. I know this is a popular book and have been read and enjoyed by so many readers.
The second is The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry. I think the motivation for buying this book was that it was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and being a die-hard fan of the prize, I could not let this book slip off me. The book also won the Costa Book of the Year Award. It is published by Penguin.
Let me know what you make of these books!
I guess buying a Man Booker shortlist is a worth it. I heard a lot about Around the World in Eighty Days but never read it.

Around the World in Eighty Days is quite a short piece so I hope to get through quickly.
