The long-list of the prestigious Dublin IMPAC Award for the year 2012 has been announced. The €100 000 award is unique in that titles are nominated for the IMPAC by libraries worldwide.
Authors whose heritage one might consider African – they include Leila Aboulela (Lyrics Alley), Aminatta Forna (The Memory of Love), Nnedi Okorafor (Who Fears Death) and Chike Uzoma (Goodnight Father) are part of the long-listed.

Good luck to all the listed writers, especially the African writers.

So fantastic that these great authors all made the list. I’ve still to read anything by Chike Uzoma but hopefully I will soon.
