Young Blood wins 2012 Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature

Young Blood

South African writer, Sifiso Mzobe, wins 2012 Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature for his book, Young Blood.

Sifiso takes a prize tag of US$ 20,000. The ceremony was held at the Civic Centre, Lagos on September 8, 2012.

From a shortlist of three, Sifiso’s Young Blood emerged the winner beating Bridget Pitt (The Unseen Leopard) and Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo (Roses and Bullets).

  1. Ah, well done, you were correct in your prediction, Geosi! Looks a good book, with a very striking cover. Might be hard to find in the UK – it shows as unavailable on Amazon, for example – but maybe the prize will change that.
