Tom Chandler is poet laureate of Rhode Island emeritus. He has been named Phi Beta Kappa Poet at Brown University and has been a featured poet at the Library of Congress and the Robert Frost homestead.
Geosi Gyasi: Did you want to be a writer at an early age?
Tom Chandler: Yes. But I got side-tracked for a couple of decades. In my 20’s I played guitar & sang in bands.
