Wow!
I think this is a perfect challenge for me as I would get the opportunity to read books from all over the world.
You can find information about how to participate at the Global Reading Challenge Blog. The challenge runs from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011.
There are three levels of participation. I am signing up for the Easy Challenge where I will be reading one novel from each of these continents in the course of 2011:
Africa
Asia
Australasia
Europe
North America
South America
The Seventh Continent (here you can either choose Antarctica or your own ´seventh´ setting, eg the sea, space, a supernatural/paranormal world, history, the future – you name it).
From your own continent: try to find a country, state or author that is new to you.
I will come up with my list of books for each continent later.
I encourage all and sundry to join.
I’m looking forward to your reading for this challenge. I’m wondering whether I should sign up…

I think the this challenge is a great one and when I saw it, I did not hesitate to sign up. Reading around the globe could be much fun.

A great challenge. I should sign up though I am trying to avoid too many challenges this year – I end up not wanting to read books because I think I have to. Somehow that makes them seem less fun. Kind of odd I know 🙂

I understand the your point and so I’ve made great efforts to join challenges that suits me and this is my first time with the global challenge. I hope I’m able to make it.
